oh boy, this is a level where youshouldn't be messing with PC hardware.

Yes SATA drives don't need jumpers (some still have some)
You probably need to load a third party ATA-SCSi driver. Press F6 when windows install is loading, and then insert the disk of your SATA controller. If you don't have it, you'll have to make one.

Have you tried your twinmos in your PC? they should be tested on dual channel mobo's. If they don't work, return them.

I am formatting now and is it normal when you put your drives in raid 0 that the 2*80GB drives become one big drive of 160GB ?
you might not want to be using raid if you don't know what it does...

Never put a pc together with sata , i have to learn it anyway.

I have the raid 0 running with the VIA drivers but it only show my 40GB partition.

If i wanna go to the promise drivers i can select that in bios right ?.

Well another question how do you flash your mobo with K8V1004.exe , just restart and press F2 ?

And then run the file and wait till it is completed ?

Many questions but that's the way i learn it.

thx

boot disk needs only
command.com
io.sys
msdos.sys
autoexec.bat
config.sys

Last 2 might as well be empty in this case. To prevent any errors of files not found.
