Ok,

Earlier some guy posted some custom instructions on how to flash a XFX FX5900. I used the Gainward BIOS and it worked great!!!! My XFX GeForce FX5900 is now a FX5950 Ultra.

FOR THOSE WITH THE "I AM STUCK AT ONE RESOLUTION' PROBLEM, TRY TO REDOWNLOAD AND REINSTALL THE LATEST FORCEWARE DRIVERS. AT FIRST I WAS STUCK AT 640X480 AND COULDN'T CHANGE IT BUT AFTER I REINSTALLED THE LATEST NVIDIA DRIVERS, EVERYTHING WENT FINE.

MY RESULTS:

Clock Speeds
Stock FX5900: 400/850
Flashed @FX5950U: 475/900

3DMark03 Results (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=1891660)
Stock FX5900: 5184
Flashed @FX5950U: 5687

Temperatures
Stock FX5900: 54C GPU / 37C Ambient
Flashed @FX5950U: 44C GPU / 36 Ambient

Overall, 10% increase in performance and about 20% decrease in temperature (don't ask me how, it just happened ) Overall, very sweet and it works but use at your own risk.

Not working still. I completely took the old card out of my system, uninstalled all of the drivers, and then reinstalled.. no such luck.

aznxboix629, were you getting any kind of error in the device manager when you were stuck at a low resolution?.. I'm getting an error 12.. pissing me off.
