CeBIT 2014: MSI shows new 2014 lineup

Tradeshow & OC events by leeghoofd @ 2014-03-09

Even though the Hannover Messe only officially starts tomorrow, MSI already wanted to highlight some of their brand new products to the present media. Apparently this is just a part of what will be shown at the CeBIT Fare; at least one Taiwanese manufacturer remains loyal to the Hannover Messe. Other big brands alike ASUS & Gigabyte have opted to skip CeBIT.  A small warning: the word gaming will be repeated all the time in this brief article, as this is where MSI will focus on in the upcoming months. MadShrimps will show you parts of the presentation and some pictures of the displayed hardware.

Nightblade Barebone:

Last week MSI officially released the Nightblade Barebone. This new product is the baby of Joran Schoonderwoerd and boy does it look classy or not. No compromise shave been made here; the included motherboard is based on the Z87M Gaming board. This barebone is small and compact, though still has room for a slot-in type optical drive. The Nightblade also allows full-size graphics cards up to 290mm length and up to 35mm thickness to be installed. The build in 600W PSU has an 80Gold plus rating, thus being ample powerful and energy efficient for most gaming hardware. Just add your favorite GPU, CPU, RAMs and storage and you are ready to go!

A look on the inside reveals it's pretty cramped inside, though take note there's room for two mSATA SSDs, a SSD or 2.5" HDD and or a normal 3.5" HDD. The shown model was equipped with the optional side fan for extra cooling on the graphics cards. MSI recommends installing this with the hot ATI R290 cards. The shown passive CPU cooler is also optional.
