![]() | ![]() Technology enhancement for the be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER series as from October 2007 Glinde, Germany, 21.09.07. Listan GmbH & Co. KG is famed as the developer of the exceptionally quiet, high-quality be quiet! power adapters. For October 2007 the manufacturer has come up with the upgraded be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER series. With its case embossment, this new version looks slightly different from this model series first presented in September 2006. Technology-wise, all 8 models are now equipped with PCIe 2.0 (6+2Pin) VGA ports, permitting a maximum power consumption of up to 300W. Changes to the electronics have also been implemented, such as a reduction in ripple+noise by 50% and optimisation of the 3.3 V cables. The latter serves to improve compensation for load change, which is mainly caused by the CPU. As regards safety technology, be quiet! integrates a modified fan control with a start-up pulse as well as improved fan connection electronics. This ensures all fans start up safely when the PC is switched on. The maximum total load for fans connected to the power supply adapter has been restricted to 1A/12W. These technological enhancements have not led to an increase in price. The non-binding, recommended prices remain at € 54.90 (350W), €61.90 (400W), € 69.90 (450W), € 79.90 (500W), €89.90 (550W), €99.90 (600W), €109.90 (650W) and €124.90 (700W). In order to choose the correct power rating class, Listan also provides an easy-to-use data bank guidance tool on its homepage. This is called the be quiet! PSU Online Wattage Tool. The required power consumption for components is determined via the selection of hardware components such as CPUs, graphic cards, hard disk type and its speed as well as peripheral devices and a recommendation is then made for the right be quiet! power supply adapter. This all makes the prospective customer's purchase decision a great deal easier. Further information is available at www.be-quiet.de and www.listan.de
