Cost only half as much as the X800XL, the Sapphire Radeon X800GT is a great choice for main-stream gamers who want to play the latest games at affordable price. Bundled with full version of Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, PowerDVD 6 and cables for HDTV connection, it adds even more values to this main-stream gaming card. Featuring 8 pixel-pipelines, which is half as much as X800XL, the X800GT actually performs as good as X800XL at lower resolution. However at 1600x1200 with full-screen anti-aliasing, the X800GT can lag more than 50% behind the X800XL. Therefore, we would recommend this card if you are not planning to play games at high resolution with full details and anti-aliasing.
To get the most out of the card, you can easily overclock it using the bundled TRIXX overclocking tool. From our benchmark results, we manage to achieve about 15% increase in performance with the stock heatsink fan. The little copper-based heatsink fan has done very well in keeping the card cool without generation a lot of noise.
