Default More delays affect Microsoft XP SP2

SOFTWARE MAKER Microsoft has put the automatic delivery of its SP2 super-patch on hold for another nine days.
Yesterday SP2 for Windows XP was supposed to be placed on an automatic upgrade and be delivered to corporates to play with.

However at the last minute, the software giant who fears nothing other than the sky falling on its head, seemed to have had an attack of nerves.

Spinsters from the lair of the Vole said too many customers were not ready to deploy the 250Mb upgrade and would have needed to use the tool Microsoft provided to blocking SP2 delivery. The tool can be found here here.

Not only have managers made it clear to Vole that they are in no hurry to load SP2, there are concerns that chunks of it will have to be disabled to run some of the software out there, or some software will have to be adapted before it could work, it has transpired.

It seems that many have got on the blower to Redmond and said don’t put it on automatic update yet please.

Apparently users of Microsoft XP home edition will not have to wait as long. Microsoft will start pushing the super-patch down the wires tomorrow, so if you wonder why your Internet connection is slow, that may be the reason. µ
