Default Microsoft looks to quicken Windows XP SP2 adoption

Prior to the release of Windows XP Service Pack 2, Microsoft set a goal of having 100 million copies distributed through its automatic update (Windows Update downloads not included). Not much more than a month after its SP2 was released via the automatic update service, Microsoft is about 80 million copies shy of its goal. Still hoping to reach 100 million downloads by the middle of October, Microsoft is planning to step up distribution
