Default Cyril's Hardware Guide, Part III: Sockets and SLI

Prices for SLI motherboards will obviously lower after January 2005, but right now I would consider SLI to be mainly attractive to top-end users, as they can stack a couple of 6800GT cards in a system and not have to upgrade again for the next few hundred years.
