Hence, I shouldn't say it, right? Neither should Rutar.

There are places where environment temp is low enough that 40, 60 and 70 mm fans are good enough. Many server systems are using 40 and 60mm fans today.

Cooler is not always better : water freezes at 0°C no matter how low the temp gets it stays solid.

Wrong, lifetime of electronic components decrease only if a certain limit of temperture given by data sheets is exceeded.

Example: a component max temp before lifetime decreases is 80°C. So it can be used at 20°C or 75°C and the component will have the same lifetime. If you go up 80°C +10°C=90°C the component will drop a half in lifetime.

This is a rough example but thats the way it goes.

MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) is simply a line drawn on the sand; Good for one company bad or another. HDD temp is a very good example.
