| http://www.overclockers.com/tips040/ "I Have To Give Santa Something To Do" This may be the wisest move of all. Not only will you get a C-1 stepping PIV, but dual DDR mobos should also be available by then. |

since sunday windows xp has been running on a prime stable 3.150 ghz (gamespeed) system, and I haven't seen any lockups during madonions, conversions, nwn, sof2, .... it's been stressed quite a lot, cuz I leave it running all day prime and batches of 3dmark. no hiccups, no crashes.

| my hardware-buying pause until september is quite good... there's no way telling which machinery will be the best midseptember... will the 9700 be out? and will the nv30 be ready? will boards basqed on this chipset destroy the ancient i850 and derived chipsets for pc1066? will pc1066 even be available? will p4's be payable @ 3 gig? Will amd 's @ 2400/2600 be @ 166 mhz fsb and make up some performance loss towards intel? I'd like to go on a two month vacation now, til end september and then come back and see all the changes at once
