go to cdfreaks.com and check the user feedback, it's one of the best out there, together with the benq

I have nec 3520 and bought for many people the newer necs and out of all dvd's i burned one failed. Wasn't the dvdwriters fault but pc's fault .

So my choice would be also NEC.

the problem with their nec prolly was they were using way too old firmware, specially if they bought it shortly after the release, that would certainly explain the incompatability problems which are usually fixed in later firmware releases

Double layer CD price is coming down fast. I would consider the feature.

I have used LG, Lite-On, Samsung and BenQ in the last 18 months. I really like the new BenQ in both price and performance.

three weeks ago I got the Aopen because the LG wasn't in stock but I had some problems with it. It blocked while watching a DVD movie.

Today I got it changed and now I have the LG.

Thx for the tips.
