Well, it works fine at 220*11, but anything above that and I get HD corruption. I've read on a linux forum (purely by accident) that SATA1 & 2 are NOT pcilocked, but SATA3 & 4 are! I'm going to change my drives to channel 3&4 tonight, and see how far that will raise my overclock. Long time since I overclocked. :) |
look what I have sitting in my mailbox:) from Jnav's upcoming MSI K8n Neo2 S939 review; guess the same applies to the S754 version we have I have my drives hooked up SATA 3&4 and run 230*10 with my A64 3000+ without prob, so I guess you should stay away from SATA1&2 when overclocking! Had my drives hooked up there "by accident" for cable routing advantages ;) |
nice find, is this MSI only or are there other boards/brands/chipsets that pose the same problem? |

It was defenitly SATA1 & 2 which was holding me back. Before, I would have HD corruption at 220mhz HTT, now 245mhz is no problem. The revived A64 3200+ seems to be doing 2420mhz stable with stock cooling and 1.6vcore. |
What kind of temp readings are you getting? |
Extreme low idle temperature, even lower than my A64 3000+. With C&Q enabled (1,05V, 1000mhz), it's exaclty 1 degree C over room temperature (21C). Stressed it's about 50 degrees with the standard cooler set to silent. |
:) |
It's called the no fuss overclocking; the best of it all.:) |
just tested with infineon, doesn't even post with ram in bank2 mailed soltek too, but no reply yet. |
