aghhh! theres a mod? geez and you guys never told me, :grum: I found this link from some american guy, he's freakin nuts http://www.fastlanehw.com/reviews.php?i=102&page=2
. Can't find any decent guides tho. Gonna try and change the multiplier as it caused problems before

no offence, but that "american guy" did nothing out of the ordinary in the OC world :)

here's a mod worth drooling over http://www.madshrimps.be/gotowebnews.php?id=2844

Makaveli7 : here's a good guide and the l12 mod is explained and demonstrated in there aswell :
http://www.logan.eclipse.co.uk/abit_nf7_(s)_v2_0.htm
and here's one for the mod only :
http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?/ht...md_pinmod.html
select what you need (cpu view, barton, 166fsb) and it'll show you what pins to connect. Mind you, don't bother the 200fsb mod cuz it won't work on mobiles :)

offtopic: jmke (or anyone else :)) do you know a guide for modding memory sticks like in Hipro5's guide cuz he says "mod your mem too for stability" but he just shows some pics and doesn't even say how.
I've been meaning to go through his thread on XS but haven't found the time yet...

don't know about the memory mod

As I said before; somehow both of my NF-7 boards work well over 200 without the mod. Only limited by my memory sticks.:)

should i try the Mickey Padge NF7S_d1.0 bios? on this page? http://www.logan.eclipse.co.uk/downloads.htm

kristos 29th September 2004 15:13

no, this link has at least some explanation and results for all the different bios revisions.

http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.p...2&page=1&pp=30

be carefull though, if you have pata disks, you're ok with any bios but if you use sata disks, stay away from the older biosses (D10, ...)

also, if you use dual sided memory (afaik all 512mb modules), you need to get a bios with CPC off (except with the mushkin 256 sticks, they are dual sided but they seem to act as single sided).

here's another link for recent bios files but no explanation of any kind.

crap, that screws me, cuz im using 2x512 ocz platinum sticks and a SATA hard drive....

kk. i got an idea....someone give me a url to the exact bios i shud use, jus look at my specs, pick 1. give me the link....and if it fails....i can blame someone else:)

jmke 29th September 2004 15:26
