3.8 for daily use

no Calantak,
just want to have fun with an AMD for once, It's almost a year ago that I changed my PC
before it was a 2 monthly change of CPU or mobo, you know

the shuttle has locked AGP, not PCI, so maybe my HDD will be the limited factor, but we can overcome that problem.

no, using an add-on IDE card will prevent data coruption.

but from what I've read, this would help you get higher FSB speeds without data coruption.

only if the ATA controller on that PCI card can handle higher PCI speeds then the one on your mobo.. otherwise you are facing the same limits afaik
