| U.S. Air Force Purchases 10,000 HP Desktop PCs PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug 22, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- HP (HPQ)(HPQ) today announced that the U.S. Air Force (USAF) has purchased more than 10,000 HP desktop PCs as part of the service's quarterly enterprise IT purchase. For USAF facilities in the United States and around the world, HP will provide its dx5150 Business PCs to fulfill the Air Force's requirement for small-size mainstream and mini-tower desktops. "We are excited with the continued growth of HP's personal computing business in support of our Air Force customers," said Allen Greene, district manager, Defense Agencies and U.S. Air Force, HP. "We are pleased that the department has recognized HP's ability to deliver the highest performance solutions at the best possible price." HP's desktop systems were selected by the Air Force after a favorable best value review by USAF's Information Technology Commodity Council, which includes representatives from all of the Air Force's major commands. The HP dx5150 Business PC, featuring the AMD Athlon(TM) processor, also offers exceptional expandability and flexibility for enterprise computing environments. In October 2004, USAF awarded HP a 5-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) or Enterprise Hardware Agreement (EHA) based on the Federal Supply Schedule to provide desktops, laptops and servers (DLS) under the provisions of a new and transformed Air Force PC strategy. That DLS EHA provides HP an opportunity to bid on the Air Force's quarterly enterprise buys (QEB) for computer systems. http://custom.marketwatch.com/custom...tion=&symb=HPQ

| uhm; the European Commission is powered by Intel CPU's, more then 30.000 in .BE alone, would not call this "PWNED" at all.. AMD needs to push their products harder if they want to "PWN" anyone
