Default Radeon'R' Xpress'TM' Platform Technology Included in HP Commercial Desktop PCs

Radeon(R) Xpress(TM) 200 along with AMD Athlon 64 processors, delivers lightning fast 64-bit processing, robust features and increased scalability

MARKHAM, Ontario, Apr 27, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ATI Technologies Inc. (ATY)(ATYT), today announced that Radeon(R) Xpress(TM) 200 will be the chipset platform technology for the HP dx5150, HP's latest AMD Athlon(TM) 64 processor-based commercial desktop PC. ATI's technology adds Radeon-class visual processing and broad connectivity for today's most commonly used devices and peripherals. The Radeon Xpress 200 also delivers built-in support for PCI Express, DirectX 9 graphics and AMD's (AMD) 64-bit processors, helping to enable support of the latest operating systems and applications and, in turn, give customers investment protection.

With built-in dual monitor support, the Radeon Xpress 200 platform allows users to easily connect a second display and extend their desktop for improved multi-tasking and application management. In addition, IT managers benefit from ATI's unified driver architecture, which enables a stable and consistent software image across multiple platforms.

"HP commercial desktop PCs are widely recognized as providing industry leading performance and reliability at an attractive price point," said Reuven Soraya, Director of Marketing, Chipset Business Unit. "Radeon Xpress 200 platform technology helps provide commercial users with a best-in-class solution that easily meets the demands of business users today, and in the future."

"Our customers desire desktop PCs that are highly versatile, with the features and performance to maximize end-user productivity," said Brian Schmitz, director of marketing, Business Desktops, HP. "With Radeon Xpress platform technology, the dx5150 offers an ideal balance of these elements combined with support for the approaching 64-bit computing future to help provide businesses with advanced performance and ensure investment protection."
