AFTER YEARS of loving socket A platform, it's time to say goodbye to all those nice chipsets and motherboards based on it. AMD decided to pull the plug on this one simply as it wants to make a big deal out of the Socket 754.

Argh, How will I ever upgrade my processor now -> new mobo + processor is just too expensive.

AXP will be available on 2nd hand market for some time still, picking up XP2500+ won't be much a problem

will provide quite a boost compared to your current XP1800+

goodbye, beloved socket A. we've been stuck to them for a very long time and it was GOOD. i've got three socket A systems, and I keep a spare mainboard in case one would fail
