Default Microsoft admits Vista screwed - working on first Service Pack

SOFTWARE FIRM Microsoft has put the first service pack for its new super soaraway Vista operating system, which has not even made it onto the consumer market, on the "fast track". That is to say, it is hurrying up to fix it.

It took Windows NT4 six service packs to run ok out of the box
It took Windows 2000 four service packs to run ok out of the box
It took Windows XP two service packs to run ok out of the box

will it take Vista only 1 service pack to make it usable for the masses without security leaks, bugs, crashes, etc?

i think that's wishful thinking jmke

either way, i'm not planning on getting Vista until
- there is a decent and stable version (hopefully SP1, but not holding my breath)
- there are decently priced dx10 cards on the market worth the upgrade from my x1950pro
- there are decent drivers for it all

DX10 card are not "verplicht" to make use on your computer.
Some of my classmates run vista on their laptops .

But i agree with you, first is has to be proven to be more efficient then XPROSP2 wich i think is already very good!

Does any other member already read something about XSOS version 3.0?
what do you think about it?

I still say it's a trick to make people that wait for the first SP buy it.

Hence, you need to wait for SP2 or even 3.

of course dx10 graphics cards arent mandatory, but one of the sole reasons for me to turn to Vista (i like xp just fine) would be the games, and as such i'd like dx10
