![]() | DigiTimes reports that Intel's first 45nm processor will be a quad-core Core 2 Extreme and cost $999. Processor speed will be 3.33GHz on a 1333MHz FSB with 12MB L2 cache. In addition to the quad-core Core 2 Extreme processor, there will be two performance level quad-core processors adopting a 45nm process launched soon after, with both processors adopting a 1333 MHz FSB and 12MB L2 Cache. Another four 45nm dual-core processors (Wolfdale) will be launched in the first half of 2008. http://www.digitimes.com/mobos/a20070719PD203.html

Even back in the Netburst Northwood days with AMD Athlon64 hitting the streets and offering better performance at a better price with less heat they still sold the Extreme at $999.3.33GHz is the Extreme, so 3GHz and 2.67GHz will be the two other Q4 parts... I would hope/guess $500-600 and $266-380 respectively?? If not then worst case the 2.67GHz Penryn would be $533. | |
