AMD licenses Rambus for PCI Express, DDR tech

MEMORY IP FIRM Rambus said AMD has taken out a five year licence to use DDR types of memory, PCI Express, FB-DIMMs and other technology for $75 million.
The licence covers not only XDR memory but DDR2 and DDR3. This, said Rambus, is a good start for the firm because it hasn’t done much licensing of controller licences.

They had to licence it if they wanted to use DDR2, right?
So any guru with some cash could have make a quick buck on the stockmarket.
