when i stress with prime95 , my 1800+ also makes a sissing sound

I have that sound also with my Intel 2.4b, though only the first 5 min after cold boot.

Seems like the easiest way to solve this problem is by sticking it in a case... blah.

I swapped the squeeling 2.6C with my 2.8C a few minutes back. This SOB is even louder if possible.

Even with no fans running this 2.8C setup is too loud for me when I need to concentrate. :/

I always study with music playing, no problem with noise whatsoever
