Default Samsung makes DDR2 chip on 70 nanometre process

THE CHIP WING of Samsung Electronics claimed it has finished developing a 512Mbit DDR2 memory device on a 70 nanometre process.
This, Samsung claimed, is the smallest process technology applied to a DRAM device. Samsung already produces DRAM chips on 80nm and 90nm processes.

Yields per wafer will be 100 per cent higher than using 90 nanometre tech, said Samsung.

It will start producing memory chips in the second half of next year in various densities.

We expect Microsoft Vista needs an awful lot of memory so it's just as well Samsung is making high density chips as a boon to mankind. µ

Does this mean 1GB of memory is min and 2GB and more to likely be gamers when Vista becomes popular?

win98 - win2k - winxp pro sp2 - win2k3 - win64bit.

Tried vista beta but explorer alone took about 190MB. uke:

win95 and winme i throwed in the garbage.

What i read is just a bit eye candy and things i never use.

I am sure i will use it if we are 2 years further but i see no point in using it now.

don't bet on it, PC's haven't been "superleet" for quite some time now;

about Vista, GUI acceleration through power of vidcard is enough reason to upgrade.
