Project LiquidLi - Watercooling the Lian-Li

Modding/Case Mods by richbastard @ 2003-02-16

It took me a while to come to this. I wanted a pc that was fast, good looking, well cooling but quiet and didn?t have a huge price tag... now that?s not too much to ask, is it?

Fast Beast + Silent Cooling

Speedy:

XP2400+ @2310mhz (12.5*185), max 40°C load
Epox 8rda+ & 2*256Mb twinmoss ddr333
R9500 (>9700 softmod) @ 350/315

This setup produces ~16000 3DM01 and ~5000 3DM03 marks. More than fast enough if you ask me, and i didn't need to spend a huge amount on a 166FSB proc, expensive ram or a 9700pro. Hail to overclocking.

Thanks to the PC mods rheobus, i can change this rig into a loud but awesome overclocking machine anytime. Here's some 2575mhz AMD power for you:

Cooling this beast:

I fooled around with aircooling a long time, but unfortunatly there is no such thing as amazing low temps with almost no noise with aircooling. An SLK800/Alpha8045/swiftie and low rmp papst fan will give you decent temps and low noise, but it's not good enough for the overclocks i had in mind... so that's why i chose for watercooling.

My (ass kicking) D-teck Spir@l waterblock. This is a huge SOB:

Vidblock installed on Connect3D 9500:

Bad Ass radiator: The heattransformer dual X. Built to fit 2 120mm fans:

Eheim 1250 pump, good for 1200l/hour:

Two papst 120mm fans (82CFM) @ 5V manage to keep the processor at ~37°C full load (21°C ambient). I think this passes for good cooling. :)
