Project LiquidLi - Watercooling the Lian-Li

Modding/Case Mods by richbastard @ 2003-02-16

It took me a while to come to this. I wanted a pc that was fast, good looking, well cooling but quiet and didn?t have a huge price tag... now that?s not too much to ask, is it?

Silent? + Final Pics

Quiet:

This was the hardest part, because i wanted a well cooled case too. The main heatsorces (cpu, gpu, nb) are being cooled by h²o. The radiator is cooled by two papst 120mm fans @4~5V (~1000rpm), which is near to unhearable. A similar 120mm fan is placed in the side, together with 2 papst ngml's (80mm) at 5V blowing in the case to ensure a proper airflow. The hot air is being sucked out at the top, through the radiator.

The PSU is a 550W Q-Tek dual fan. It's loud when unmodded, but i let the fans run at 5V, which makes is virtually impossible to hear. I don't need 550Watts anyway, so it may get hot.

A bunch of high quality fans at low rpm managed to give me a decent airflow, yet very, very little noise.

I've got a Seagate Cuda V HD, wich can't be heard at all. Two thumbs up!

All the fans are controlled with a PC mods rheobus.
