| My sisters Celeron 266 was a perfect third rig to add to my collection of folding stations. (well not at all that perfect, but hey, every WU counts). I installed the console version and ran it as a system service on win2k, but it can't connect :'( I also ran the graphical version, same problem. Doesn't make a connection to the server. No core.exe download, nothing. I checked firewall settings.. nothing out of the ordinary. My other PC's have much stricter settings.... what could be the problem? (and yes i DID fill in my proxy and port) |

| OK, fixored. Apparently you have to run FAHconsole.exe at least 1 time as a standard application so it can connect AND DOWNLOAD. The first time i ran it, i put in the settings, but shut it down before it connected, afterwards i ran it as a service, but it was never able to connect (judging by the logs). So I just ran it a single time and waited for the core.exe to download and until it started it's first frame. Shut it down, and restarted it as a service. Works fine now Too bad it won't show up in my stats, barely able to render a single WU/week, but just maybee i can fry the cpu without my sister knowing it, then she'll have to buy a new rig, with more cpu power.... I'm just plain evil. edit : omg i'm such a noob, should have read JMke's post better.
