I don't really know my type of case, my dad bought it some years ago. It's an Aopen and I guess an old H600-series (it looks like this (left one) one, but it has 5 5.25inch slots and only 1 3.5insch slot, on the very top of the case, the power button is next to it)
fan setup is all standard: just exhaust from the power supply, the stock intel heatsink and the stock heatsink for the ati radeon 9800

are you sure you have the extra 80mm set up in the right direction? Blowing DOWN on the heatsink?

an increase in temp can only be possible if
a) the bottom of your case is hotter then the top, which is highly unlikely
b) you have the extra 80mm fan sucking air away from the HSF

can you please verify if that fan is blowing air onto the heatsink?

I find it very hard to believe that in a case without fans, the CV will produce negative effects :/

Full test (each time I shut down the computer and ran F@H for about 5 minutes.) I have no clue where system zone 1 and system zone 2 is

Chill Vent with fan blowing to the processor (like it was before, no text on fan visible)
processor zone: 62°C // system zone 1: 42°C // system zone 2: 39°C

Chill Vent removed:
processor zone: 56°C // system zone 1: 37°C // system zone 2: 38°C

Chill Vent, fan in wrong direction (for jmke )
processor zone: 66°C // system zone 1: 40°C // system zone 2: 38°C

And because I thought the Chill Vent was maybe in a wrong position or something, I put the fan again in the good direction and tested:
processor zone: 55°C // system zone 1: 40°C // system zone 2: 37°C

Looks like the Chill Vent WAS in a wrong position, but still, 1°C isn't much

1°C :feesten:

ok, something is wrong, did other temps drop? Because a drop of 1°C is low, very low.

Zone 1 is at bottom of mobo, zone 2 is near CPU, those last results look okay. You have to keep in mind that since you don't have ANY case fans, nor holes at the bottom of the sidepanel, it will be hard for fresh air to enter the case. If you'd install that silent 80mm in the front of your case you might see a larger temp drop

I'm beginning to see some daylight now. I assume too much, i.e. they know what I know ......

A video review should be in order....... Rodney the 3DGameman. I wanted to do one from the start but my GF .....hummmm.

Thank you for the pointers here.

The trim lines, don't forget, are there for fitting the case.

Any case without intake and exhaust will have high CPU; system; GPU; memory ; HDD temps. The best CPU HSF won't help.

Feel Free to post all negatives .... only way to improve.
