 |  Twitter lays off more staff Musk gets rid of the engineers who keep the company running Business genius and supreme twit Elon [look at me] Musk laid off more than 50 people from Twitter over the weekend, choosing to let go those who could keep the technical side of the business running. Apparently, Musk looked at places he could make cost cuts and decided that engineering teams, including those supporting the main Twitter app, technical infrastructure to keep Twitter's systems running, and advertising technology were surplus to requirements.
