| PQI-TDK JV introduces 1.8-inch SSD Built on SLC NAND flash chips, the new 1.8-inch SSD delivers a data read rate of 100MB per second. CSS stressed that the SSD supports TDK's proprietary NAND flash management technology called Kotobuki, which enables the SSD to sustain operation for five years, 24 hours a day. The "Kotobuki" calculation method refines the way PCs access SSDs through an improved NAND flash block management system, thus, it helps extend the flash module lifespan, CSS explained. By supporting the advanced encryption standard (AES), the SSD also addresses the security concerns of consumers, CSS stressed. http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20080526PD206.html
