Default Philips Cinema 21:9 ratio TV demoed on Video

Pocket-lint's Stuart Miles attended the London launch of Philips' bonkers new "Cinema" line of televisions that sees the 56-inch widescreen monster given a loooong 21:9 ratio for black bar haters.

An incredibly niche product for rich idiots or just what your living room wall has been waiting for all its life?

they just switch horizontal bars for vertical bars (and I prefer horizontal bars over vertical bars). Imagine how small a 4:3 movie would look like on that screen ? Even a 16:9 movie will apear small.
It would be cool for gaming tough, but 21:9 resolutions aren't supported in most games I guess.

Hm, stack two ontop of each other, then stack a third vertically on its side next to them. Then aspect ratio would look right.... That's way to wide
