Philips Cinema 21:9 ratio TV demoed on Video
 

Pocket-lint's Stuart Miles attended the London launch of Philips' bonkers new "Cinema" line of televisions that sees the 56-inch widescreen monster given a loooong 21:9 ratio for black bar haters.

they just switch horizontal bars for vertical bars (and I prefer horizontal bars over vertical bars). Imagine how small a 4:3 movie would look like on that screen ? Even a 16:9 movie will apear small.
It would be cool for gaming tough, but 21:9 resolutions aren't supported in most games I guess.

Hm, stack two ontop of each other, then stack a third vertically on its side next to them. Then aspect ratio would look right.... That's way to wide :)
