Microsoft Boosts Office 2019 Price by 10%

Microsoft is raising the price of its regular, perpetually licensed Office suite by 10% in October. While Redmond claims the increase was made to better represent "the significant value added to the product over time," critics say the company is just trying to push users to Office 365 or Microsoft 365 subscriptions. The application bundle will not be the only component to see a price increase. Also slated for an Oct. 1 boost will be prices for on-premise servers, including Windows Server 2019 Standard Edition and what Microsoft dubs "productivity servers," which include Exchange, SharePoint Server and Project Server. Those servers' prices will climb by 10% as well.
