Default Maxon announces new Cinebench 2024 rendering benchmark

Gets GPU benchmarking, courtesy of Redshift rendering engine

Maxon has announced the Cinebench 2024 rendering benchmark, introducing the new Redshift rendering engine, and bringing GPU benchmarking.

In addition to bringing several improvements, the major update is the shift to Redshift, a new rendering engine, which should ensure better performance testing for modern hardware as well as deliver accurate and consistent results.

Another big update is the introduction of GPU benchmarking, something that was absent from Cinebench for the past decade, so now, you'll be able to get both CPU and GPU performance results.

Maxon was keen to note that Cinebench 2024 will get wider platform compatibility, with support for x86/64 architecture (Intel/AMD) on Windows and macOS, as well as Arm64 architecture for Apple silicon on macOS and Snapdragon compute silicon on Windows. The GPU benchmarking will be compatible with Nvidia, AMD, and Apple graphics processors.

Cinebench 2024 also gets a redesigned user interface and plenty of other performance improvements.
