Intel Dempsey reviewed, challenges Opterons
GERMAN WEB site Tec Channel has reviewed a 3.20GHz Dempsey dual system which has a front side bus of 1066MHz and four FB-DIMM DDR2 533 channels.
According to the review, applications which run in cache like rendering and raytracing, the CPUs are now at the same performance level as Opteron 280 systems.
In highly memory intensive apps like Linpack, it performs well and faster than AMD processors.
It claims the Opteron 280 will lose its number one position. But Dempsey isn't going to be available for quite some months yet.
