Default Hitachi unveils two more 15K RPM Ultrastar HDDs

Hitachi's storage division has now let loose a couple of new enterprise hard drives, the 2.5-inch Ultrastar C15K147 and 3.5-inch Ultrastar 15K600. Available in 73GB and 147GB capacities, the Ultrastar C15K147 works at 15,000 RPM (rotations per minute), has a SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) 6 Gb's interface, 64MB of buffer memory, a MTBF of 1.6 million hours, and makes use of the Advanced Power Management technology, to consume 50% less power than similar 3.5-inch Hitachi drives.

As for the Ultrastar 15K600s, they go from 300 (through 450) to 600GB in capacity, they also spin at 15,000 RPM, are offered with 6 Gb/s SAS or 4 Gb/s FCAL interfaces, and boast 64MB of buffer memory.
