Default High-DPI iPad 3 displays said to be in short supply

Apple products are almost always hard to come by soon after their launch. People queue up at stores, place pre-orders, and sometimes wait days or weeks for their latest iGadget. According to the latest story by DigiTimes, the iPad 3 won't put that trend to rest... in fact, the device may be uniquely difficult to find at first.

The site says it's learned from "industry sources in the supply chain" that Apple "may [be] unable to ramp up the supply of its next-generation iPads . . . due to insufficient supply ...
