| GeForce GTX 560 Ti set to launch on the 25th NVIDIA IS GETTING ready to take on AMD where it hurts with its upcoming GeForce GTX 560 Ti which should be launching on the 25th of January if the leaks so far prove to be right. The new card is expected to go head to head with AMD's Radeon HD 6950 which AMD has just decided to offer a cheaper 1GB verion, so it'll be interesting to see how price competitive the GTX 560 Ti will be. Nvidia's Ti moniker used to stand for Titanium if memory serves, but it hasn't been used for a long time and we're not quite sure why Nvidia has brought it back to life, unless there will be several different SKUs of the GeForce GTX 560. It's clear from pictures that leaked on Taiwanese website CoolPC that Nvidia has gone for an extremely simple card design with a 4-phase PWM, although the memory layout is quite unusual with a 1+4+3 position of the GDDR5 memory chips. The card still requires a pair of 6-pin PCI Express power connectors which suggests that it's quite a power hungry card despite the simple PCB design. http://www.semiaccurate.com/2011/01/...t-launch-25th/
