Dell releases cheap and cheerful Arm laptop

$499 and it runs Windows

Dell has released a Windows on Arm laptop with a $500 price tag.

The new Dell Inspiron 14 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 processor, it’s thin, fanless, and a good budget laptop.

It has 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage which means that it is enough to check e-mail, browsing the web, watching YouTube, write stuff -- do most of what people use their laptops for but not much else. The 14-inch display has a resolution of 1920×1080 and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The manufacturer even included a spiffy 1080p webcam, which is perfect for videoconferencing calls.

It even has two USB Type-C ports, one USB Type-A, a microSD card reader, and a headphone jack for connections.

It should be in the shops by March 23rd.
