Default Apple admits that data should be kept off its cloud

Much safer that way

Fruity cargo cult Apple has effectively admitted that if you want to keep your data safe it is problem better that you don’t put it on its cloud.

While it was banging on about data security at its Wonderlust event Apple seemed to be telling all that listened that keeping your data safe sometimes means keeping it out of the cloud.

Apple said that the risk was always there that someone, somewhere, may get access to your personal information in the cloud.

To prove Apple’s point it said that all Siri Health data is processed on Apple Watch S9 instead of the cloud and the iPhone 15 Pro's A17 Pro chip Neural Engine uses machine learning on the device without sending your personal data to the cloud.

The Tame Apple Press, along with those speaking at the event seem to be pushing edge security rather than cloud. However, what they appear to be ignoring is that Apple is admitting that its cloud security is not up to snuff.

If only companies which administered cloud servers took their security a little more seriously.
