 |  AMD Denies Any Hidden Cores in Radeon HD 7970 (Tahiti XT) Recently, we heard rumors that AMD disabled some of Compute Units inside the Tahiti GPU, and that the 4.3 billion transistor monster actually packs 2304 processing cores instead of shipping 2048.
