I still think to go for a 6600GT agp (220€).
It doesn't make mmuch difference in old games (or 3Dmark01), but it does in the newer ones (or 3Dmark03/05).

My Aopen 6800LE internal tests fails when I activate all 16 pipelines/6 vertex shaders, but I haven't found any artifacts in HL2, NFSU:2, 3Dmark03/05, doom 3,....

If you have a bit of luck, you get a 6800ultra with 128mb and low clock speed for only 210 euro. If i'm not mistaken, you can't 'unlock' anything with a 6600GT. The choice wasn't hard for me.

Because it was 15% overvolted for nine months. I don't see why enabling other pipelines would have hurt the card.

(the r9500 isn't dead, it just starts to artifact after 15 minutes of panzers: phase one).

Hmm very interesting. Thinking of buying a 6800 vanilla(can't find the LE PCI-X anywhere) for use in my new rig. Don't know yet wether to buy an nForce4 SLI or Ultra, not sure yet if I'll buy a second gfx card anytime soon. Plus since I now work @ Siemens Belgium, I'm beginning to see that having a lot of free time is not part of the job description .

Saw the Asus 6800 at tones.be but the price is a bit high.. 390 €...

If you give me 2 days off work and 300 euro, I'd do it in a jiffy. :P

@dorpsidioot: i'm very fond of my 6800LE. It has been running at 400/800 (def: 325/700) and all 16pipelines, 6vertex shaders (def:8/4) without any hickups for a month. A pitty forcom stopped selling them, they were a steal at 209 euro.
