only CPU dependant benchmarks
SsuperPI; Sandra memory; CPU temp; DVD burn; etc.

Jmke will come up with what/how to compare; we will provide data and photos ;)

DVDShrink from HDD would be cool, but requires same memory (+/-) :)

Sidney 2nd January 2006 20:51

DVDShrink; must use the same Movie title:)

Give us three or four choices and see if we both have them.

Snip:
Two guys with one generation and thousand of miles apart in age and distance; comparing a few notes in a game that has no age nor boundary ...... getting the best value CPU performance.:)

One believes in liguid cooling, the other just uses air around. You decide which one is you.:D

mhh i care about liquid cooling too but another liquid then water:D

ln˛ :p

Well liquid cooling doesn't give such a big advantage anymore with the A64 IHS. I am quiet sure my storm(75€) block would perform the same as my zern pq + (39€). Without IHS and a decent pump the storm would be superior vs my zern.

But my old liquid cooling is 2 years old and only cost me rad for 25€,pump for 40€ and cpu block (less then 40€). Good investment for 2 years of quiet cooling :).

My friend will buy it for me including my case and psu for 150€.

But i am happy with my recent cpu's I bought. (XP 2400+@2.4ghz-1.65V ; XP-M 2500+@2.5ghz-1.65V ; XP-M 2600+@2.6ghz-1.65V ; A64 3000+@2.7ghz - stock vcore ; Opteron 146@2.8ghz stock vcore but currently at 3ghz)

So basicly all budget cpu's from 75€-146€, only my xp 2400+ was 220€ when i bought it. Stock vcore oc'ing is fun :p
Lets hope my friend gets a good stepping & IHS so i can keep up with lazy's opty :)

Bah I ordered & payed my stuff 25th dec and still didn't receive anything.
One shop(.nl) has vacation till 9th january :o. The other german shop where I never ordered anything still hasn't send or replyed to my mails. Better payed an extra 10€ where is was sure of the shops service.
Lets hope I know more next monday.

I recently bought some fittings for my rad (1/4" / 13mm for tube) and some silicone tubing. I love silicone tubing, you can bend it everywhere without damaging the hose or get kinks in it.
But I also ordered Dangerden UV tubing and will test that also.

Keep you updated.

So my wc set came in today as well the x2 3800+ setup. The minor hold up is that my PSU still didn't arrive.
Blame anekado for that, First time I ordered there and also the last time.

At the moment I am testing my wc loops for waterfittings. But I know i don't have a fit but too bad i don't have a spare psu to hook up my setup.

Going to hook up the x2 3800+ setup with my HD so i can still work :)

EDIT: Sunday a few pics.
EDIT2: 26°C Idle for x2 3800+ :D (start ocing)

187(V)URD@ 12th January 2006 22:14

X2 3800+ Idle at 20°C at stock. Thats 13°C lower then my 3ghz opteron at idle :)

jmke 12th January 2006 22:25

idle speeds mean nothing, load is everything. Sprite!

Did a quick s&m on the cpu(fpu) with 2.6ghz at 1.55bios or 1.5V cpu-z.
Load temp was 35°C on a passive WC(fanless setup :))

EDIT: Dual prime only 28-30°C
