Default Minor changes to new p4's : OC-ability increased!

Some people are hitting 3.4-3.5 ghz easily at a low voltage with the new p4's, there seems to be an increase to the power these cpu's have even at their default setting : we see -1 to 2 seconds on super pi at same speed as before with the new cpu's.

and the pricing will get so low... unbelievable...

thinking of putting a 2.66 in my prometheia in september together with the radeon 9700

chainbolt pic :

and read this too...

Great news.

Those price drops are really necessary in my humble opinion: P4 2.53Ghz = 810 eur

For the time being: give me a cheap XP2400+ @ 250 eur.

Nevermind, price dropped from 810 to 330 eur this week @ funcomp. Now that's what I call cutting prices.

just in case some of you might be interested, the P4 2.4GHz (priced about 440€) will drop in price somewhere next week.

@ calantak: when you say the prices for the 2.53 will drop in a few weeks, do you mean, half of september, end september, half october...
just curious, very curious

within 2-3 weeks all cpu's below 2.53 will become half as expensive as now.
A 2.26 for example will cost 140EUR in germany
