sure it's making a good contact w/ the CPU ?

bad luck :(

BTW: today I start folding 24/7 again, stress temp with all fans on low is 44°C so I can sleep again, even with this hot weather my pc makes a lot less noise than it used to do.

jmke 10th August 2004 17:52

26°C in my room now, what a relief. I haven't slept in at all last night due to the heat, it was 34+°C degrees :/

agent #2 10th August 2004 18:10

Pff, yes. On my room it's hot to. Tomorrow I start working again @ 5 AM :(:grum:

lol, what's the work you're doing?

mine A64 is 42 idle and 48 stressed , also with c&q enabled and stock cooler.(roomtemp about 26-27°)

jmke 11th August 2004 09:27

46°C stresed
A64 3000+ running at default, with stock cooler :)

FreeStyler 11th August 2004 10:00

yesterday when waking from sleep mode: cpu and chipset 41°C
today, the same thing: 30°C

I sure love a bit of natural water cooling.

Vacationwork. In a chocolat factory (pralines). It's cool there but it's hard work.

Sidney 12th August 2004 07:36

The weather has gone nuts in recent days ...... present moment 13C outdoor temp. A far cry from 10 days ago of 30C at night.

SantaSCSI 20th August 2004 18:23

36° idle with stock cooler on my A64 3000+

jmke 20th August 2004 21:21

idle temps don't count :p

wutske 20th August 2004 21:46

29.5 idle on aerogate, nah

wutske 4th September 2004 17:36

damned, it's hot in here, 30°c room temp :grum: . If only we had a bigger, dryer basement  .

jmke 14th December 2004 22:31

these were temps with P4 @ 2.4ghz

now room temp 22.5°C

temps with A64 3000+ @ stock speed&voltage using Scythe Samurai with fan @ full speed:

50°C = southbridge temp

the Scythe's fan tries to pull hot air away from the CPU, but with the case panel closed that air has nowhere to go; if I take the side panel off temps never go over 50°C

but this weekend = LANparty time, so I need a closed case

kr15t0f 14th December 2004 22:34

don't you have an other heatsink???

Or your case is to small?

easypanic 14th December 2004 22:36

Put on your boxed cooler this weekend?

Da_BoKa 14th December 2004 22:46

flip the fan :)

jmke 14th December 2004 22:52

will probably try the fanflip; don't have available A64 cooler; got 10 of them lined up for review:)

Sidney 5th April 2005 22:10

Okay, this thread is about to restart.

My room temp reaches 28C now (4:10 pm), and the Prescott is sitting less than 12 inches from me.:D

wutske 5th April 2005 22:28

haha, room temp today here was only 16°c or so. There was a lot of wind in the right direction :D .
Spent some time on overclocking and broke my previous 3DM01 record by 400 point (at lower cpu/graka/mem clock timing and a 9°c hotter ambient temp).

Quite happy with it, broke the 15k, good enough for me.

blind_ripper 5th April 2005 23:14

today im gonne bench a little.
and see whate tis card has more to ofer.
my recored is now ad 8k whit no vmod on it.
linkie

agent #2 1st May 2005 11:55

It's getting hot again.

CPU temp: 21° :D

wutske 1st May 2005 12:26

damn, cpu is idle at 37°c and only 166*11@1.55V w/ fan at 4% (prolly something like 8V or so, 15% is almost 12v)

agent #2 1st May 2005 13:20

I forgot.

Idle 21°
Stressed (FAH): 31°

cpu @ 1920 MHz (16*120) default vcore (1.34)

Sidney 7th June 2005 03:29

Have to run some temp tests earlier today when weather is damp and hot ....... did not turn the A/C on the PC room reached 30° C near the window. 4 systems showing >35° C system temps. No fan in the room, not PC fan mind you, so there was hardly any air movement in the room.

This changes everything whether W/C or simple air cooling.

Purpose of the test - to reinforce the following;

1) The good advise of turning down FSB 10 - 25 mhz from maximum OC on Prcocessor + dropping 0.25 Volt from max setting at 20-24°C room temp. When room temp >30° C, the system will still remain stable.

2) Power supply voltage drop - oh man, do they dropped at >30° room temp.

3) Working around computers at 30°C room temp is not only unhealthy, your dog won't even stay with you.

agent #2 7th June 2005 09:59

The weather sucks here. :grum:
On the radio they said it was going to freeze over night (on the ground).

SkipCox 8th June 2005 19:04

Cold front in California...~26°C here all week. Way below normal.

jmke 8th June 2005 22:02

26°C = cold?? weird people

I'd be very happy with that temperature. :D

SkipCox 8th June 2005 23:55

It can easily (and likely will) be 40°C in a week or so. Last June had 29 days between 38° and 41°...that's a little warmer than I like it.

wutske 18th June 2005 13:31

pfff, now it's hot, and who has to read a boring french book for his exams

Roomtemp is 28°, the sun is burning =-) and I'm sweating like a horse :( .
Cpu (XP3200) is doing fine, 41° idle and 48° load (ystech92 - 50cfm @31db)

agent #2 18th June 2005 16:51

Tempsensor of my mobo is f0cked. Don't know the exact temperature. :(

Sidney 18th June 2005 16:52

Are you overclocking the XP3200?

Normally, if you don't overclock most system will survive a 30°C room temp.

I see your system temp is lower than room temp?

wutske 18th June 2005 18:22

don't trust the onboard sensor :D . Room temp is taken with the aerogateII, so are the cpu temps.
Funny thing, few seconds later, the cpu temp was 127°c :D

Ow, the cpu is an oc'ed 2500+ (200*11@1.65V) but too lazy to write it ;)

SkipCox 18th June 2005 20:42

Stuff like the aerogate2 comes in pretty handy to measure temps when you don't trust bios and software readouts. Do something like this with the 2500+ , hang another sensor near the center of the case and another near the air inlet of the case.

Makes it a lot easier to find a program that will agree or that can be adjusted to closely reflect the readings on the aerogate.

There's a bit of work involved but the peace of mind is worth it to me.

wutske 18th June 2005 21:50

problem is, the NF7-s read 5°c too hig, but when I reboot, it's reading the same temps as the aerogate, so, the read outs are rather correct.
And the system temp was probably fluctuating, not an imporant temp since I don't use a case.

SkipCox 18th June 2005 22:43

OK, I was just wondering about the temp fluctuations and if they bothered you. You know your system much better than I do.
