idd, there was a thread about this on telenet frm. Almost every person with a Aldi pc cant game during this hot temperatures.

I mean gaming for several hours, and not pong, pacman etc ;)

damn, major bummer!!

temps are better now...
CPU: 42°
MB: 28°
hd1: 25°
hd2: 20°

(both windows are open and it's quite cold in here...no sunshine, only clouds, nice little wind)

jmke 10th June 2004 10:59

when I left home it was 19°C this morning, sun was shining in Antwerp

arrived in Brussels, pouring rain, I entered the office.. soaked :/

cR00zIFI><3r 10th June 2004 10:59

DAMN THIS BELGIAN WEATHER!!!!! :D

wutske 10th June 2004 12:08

It started raining here in Kapellen around ~12:45 :D

kr15t0f 10th June 2004 15:47

it rained all day :(

Sidney 10th June 2004 16:02

What do you know, cool 20C, steady rain since last night here in Chicago. Plan on golfing, no more....

jmke 10th June 2004 16:03

hmm; are you sure you live in Chicago? or are you living here in Belgium with the illusion that it is Chicago? ;)

what's wrong with pong huh :spank:

Sidney 22nd July 2004 15:08

Did some tests again in the last two days reaching 33C in the computer room. Sweating like a pig; turn on the A/C in late afternoon.

I still like the old faithful AVC Sunflower HSF when used with a fan controller this baby stands up to the latest and greatest.;)

piotke 22nd July 2004 18:16

today I've been working all day outside, nice and hot, got a nice tan now :-)

wutske 22nd July 2004 22:25

Had no i-net today so I went out for a tan, man it was HOOOOOOOOT. .

jmke 2nd August 2004 19:10

running @ 64-64°C here, room temp is near 30°C

WTF, I start freaking out if my cpu reaches 50°C :D .
With al my casefans on low my CPU is +- 50°C now ;)

maybe because the processor is a but undervolted. 1.625V

wutske 2nd August 2004 19:33

Running @ 46.5°c CPU fan at full speed (2200Rpm, sucking my SLK947u :^D ), roomtemp 28°c . Ow, and an undervolt of .025V is only 2.1W less heat. If it would be like 1.45V, then you would lose some watts  .

//edit; dropped the fan speed to 1800 and now it's runnin' @ 49.5°

Sidney 2nd August 2004 19:36

Room temp is also 30+C here.

MBM reports 33C system; one of my temp probes is hanging in the middle of the case (always) and reads 34.5C.

Lian-Li PC-60 (default case fans - two intake; one exhaust and one blowhole on top) - no side panel fan - panel close.
IC7 2.8C @ 245 FSB; 1.675 Vcore.

--------------------------------------------------------------

HSF being retested - Arctic Cooling cheapo running at 2,800 RPM. Hey, with 30C room temp; idles 43C and stressed 60C.

I'll be turning on the house A/C soon afterward.;)

aboroth 2nd August 2004 19:40

July 7th was equally hot
laptop back then -> hot++++

mm, not planning on stressing it for an extended amount of time now doh, it might explode :s..

hard times for notebook-users

yes, but it is overclocked to 11x200. and I can keep that voltage till 11x223 and than my motherboard cant follow :D.

@ aboroth, the laptop I use ( my fathers) gets much hotter :D.

wutske 2nd August 2004 19:44

Than it looses about 4W :D . Damn, you have a good CPU, mine only does 200*11 @1.65 (1.6V real).
Maybe I'm going to lap my SLK, because it runs too hot for being an SLK (and that base, more like a lowQ base, you can see and feel the marks :grum: )

Sidney 2nd August 2004 19:49

Just for fun;

10.5 x 200 XP1700+ 1.775 Volt - OC'ed ;)
NF-7 X-Dreamer II with side panel fan blocked.
2x80 intake; 2x80 exhaust 1x80 blowhole - all running ~2200rpm
Arctic Cooling 2L HSF - I'm Cheap.:^D

Case temp- present time 32C system; 42C idle.

12.5 x 200 XP-M 2600+ 1.650 Vcore ;) Oc'ed
NF7-S
SLK-800 - I'm not cheap here.;)
Identical case setup with all temps +/- 1C to the system above

FreeStyler 3rd August 2004 00:14

yea, altough my CPU runs pretty cool. 39°C semi idle for a XP 2200Mhz.
I stopped crunching a long time ago (add 20°C to CPU and several to the room)
and with this weather, the PC's go off when I'm not using them for any period of time.

Sucky party is that the natural ventilation of my attic is practically zero. I can open the windows all the way, there isn't a breeze unless it's a thunderstorm outside.
And my room fan just broke down:puke:

Sidney 3rd August 2004 00:32

Living in an Attic is like living next to the PSU in an ATX tower; the hottest spot in any structure. I've been there - the year was 1975; in dog days of summer, it is about 10C higher than the guy living one floor below.

I could "feel" for you.;)

wutske 3rd August 2004 15:43

Changed the 92mm, now it has a TT Smart Case FanII@Full speed (blowing). 37°c full load with a room temp of 29°-30°c :(

//edit, DOH, that is at 166*11@1.37V :( .
//edit2, 2205Mhz, 1.6V, 42.5°c :D
//edit3, same as above, sucking instead of blowing, 44°c

Sidney 3rd August 2004 16:47

Quote:

Wow, that's excellent in C/W, I hope your temp reporting is correct 7-8C above ambient.;)

wutske 3rd August 2004 17:32

It's only 47W at stock speed and 1.37V. In that case, the C/W is 0.1699. At 77W it's almost the same C/W.
Love the cooling, not the noise :( .

wutske 4th August 2004 20:17

Currently cooling the CPU passive  . It's 46.5°c now, full load and raising.

Ow, one thing to know, I downclocked it to 1100Mhz and dropped the VCore to 1.1V (1.07V real :ws: ). That results in a heat output of 17.3W :ws:

my hero :ws:,nice underclocking ;)

wutske 4th August 2004 20:39

Put the fan back on because it was running 60°c and still going up :( . And now running idle w/o a fa, 35°

my a64 rig is suffering too.... :(

RichBa5tard 4th August 2004 23:50

Enable cool&quiet. My A64 is 43 degrees idle (27.5 roomtemp) with stock cooler at 1200rpm and c&q enabled. :)

wutske 5th August 2004 15:18

I have an AerogateII, works great :super: .
I'm actualy not looking forward to next week, the expect a heatwave, 34°c and already 26°c tonight :( (and no AIR-CO :grum:, maybe going to the local 'containerpark' to find one)

easypanic 5th August 2004 15:22

I think I need better casecooling :).

1*Papst 80mm isn't good enough.
