Some cheap 550W power supply. When I power the TEC I also messured 12V line. It fals back from 12.4V to 11.7V when powering the TEC, and continues getting lower very smooth.
At a certain point it began to make a weird noise (after 10 minutes), and then I noteced the bad smell.
The power supply isn't dead, but I think it was pretty close

Some reason why voltage keeps on going down is because of bad cooling the power regulators. We had it also with some cheap supply's at school last year. When putting a high load on the supply, the power IC's had to work very hard, so they became very hot. When the IC's get hotter, they will work not so good anymore, resulting in voltages getting lower and lower. When we put a better heatsink on them, the supply worked perfectly. So I think this maybe is the same reason. Air extracted out of the supply feels hot. Going to open it this weekend and maybe add some heatsinks, or get bigger one's.
If that is the problem offcourse, I could be wrong...

Also, if I had better TEC waterblock and do some effort on insulation (didn't do any now) I can get -30蚓 I think.
But hey, what's the suprise, there isn't much to heat up.

that's why PSU are rated for a certain power output in Watt for a predefined temperature, mostly this is 25蚓.

You might also want to add a litlle load on the other lines, because some of them need a load before the other lines work optimal.
And how much A is the psu rated on the 12V line ?

Dunna how much, it has had bad paint job. I don't even know who build it, I just know it's 550W
My 480W Antec has 28A, this cheap 550W must be close to it. The TEC needs 26A, but @ 15,4V, so I'm quite safe in theory

The huge fan for the radiator is on the 5V line so it doesn't make much sound. Good enough for load u think?

I already received my TEC in less then a week from the USA, pretty cheap and fast .

Must look for PSU now

Ok, hooked up a Q-tec 650W PSU ( triple fan, nice cooling in it ):

Peltier is giving condensation on 5V:

Using this aircooled setup:

1x120mm and 1 boxed cooler ( a64) :

@ 12V this beast dissipates some terrible heat  , almost unable to cool it with air .

Lol, offcourse. Heat sink solutions aren't designed for such amount of heat

Here is mine:
