Hi people,

yesterday I flashed my Leadtek A350 5900 Ultra 256MB MyVivo graphic card to an A380 Ultra (5950) and it WORKED perfectly!

Just followed the nice guide by the other dude and just like that in less than 5 minutes things were up and running. Obviously the risks with the RAM are lower when flashing the 5900 Ultra to the 5950 since the timings are the same I believe (2.2 ns) and the 5900 ultra by Leadtek is already equipped with an excellent cooling solution. Actually the new BIOS even improved the efficiency of my card as suggested by Leadtek on their Website! In fact the GPU core temperature dropped from an idle 47°C down to 38-39°C. These readings I have observed with an ambient temperature around 30°C as my heaters are both on in my room.

Anyway I am curious to hear more people's experiences and yet as elementary as it may sound I simply would not RISK flashing the BIOS unless your card is within those listed. Of course it is always thrilling to try and experiment otherwise there is no fun and you will never know either! And with a PCI card on deck things can certainly be restored...... Cheers.

How can you calculate the temperature for your card? I have a Leadtek Ti4200 and have wanted to know this for months.

Thanks.

I flashed my Leadtek A350 5900 128MB MyVivo graphic card to a 5950 a few hours ago, and all is working fine.

Have ran 3dmark '01se and '03 several times and it worked fine.
Have played Generals and Quake 3 (all at high detail) without any problems.

As for the Temps the FX 5900 has a built in temp sensor.
For a Geforce 4 I guess you would have to add your own sensor between the graphics card heatsink and GPU core to get some sort of temp reading.
