Default Windows 8, 8.1 About to Overtake Plunging XP

And to think, all it took for Windows 8/8.1 to catch up and pass Windows XP in the very near future was to eradicate all vestiges of XP and begin to wind down sales of Windows 7, leaving little choice in direction for upgrades. Quite the victory for Windows 8/8.1 wouldn't you say? Now, suddenly, the Windows 8 and 8.1 combo has closed the gap and is about to overtake XP.
