The last time we reviewed the Velocity Micro Gamer’s Edge 1500, overzealous overclocking caused stability problems. Velocity Micro is back with a vengeance – their redesigned Gamer’s Edge 1500 is quieter, faster, cooler, and rock solid.

no, it's not "the way" it's a part of the design; not the sole cause of a drop in noise over the stock fan.
