Sony recalls PlayStation power adapters

Sony is recalling 3.5 million faulty power adapters for its popular PlayStation 2 video game console because they may overheat and cause injury, the Japanese consumer electronics maker said Tuesday.

The adapters were made between August and December of 2004 for the slimline PlayStation 2, which has a freestanding power adapter to save space. About 2.3 million of the devices were sold in Europe, with the remainder going to Asia and North America.

if you have model SCPH7000-SCPH7004
and serial code HP-AT048H03
made between 2004/08 until 2004/12

then you are out of luck and need a replacement
