Icon17 SilverStone unveils Kublai series

SilverStone Technology has unveiled a new series of cases called Kublai which should appeal to the more cost concious buyers. This doesn't mean SilverStone has skimped on the features as you'll see.

First up we have the KL01 (KL being short for Kublai) that has some quite interesting features. It has a steel body, but it's also got an almost full length aluminium door at the front and the black design with blue LEDs makes it look quite attractive.

It has dual 120mm fans for cooling, but what really sets this case apart is it's four hard drive bays, as you fit the hard drives into one of the four front accessible drive caddies and slide them into the case.

There are also five 5.25in drive bays and a single front accessible 3.5in drive bay. The KL01 also has two front USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire port and a pair of audio jacks for a headset.

Next up we have the KL02, which follows the same design idea with a steal chassi, the front accessible hard drive caddies and drive bays, but it steps up things a notch and looses the front door in favour for a mesh front.

It also has space for two 120mm fans on the side panel for those needing that little bit of extra graphics card cooling.

Both cases should be available shortly at a much more affordable price point than what you're used to see from SilverStone.
